What does “Hakerl” mean?
It’s Austrian for “little checkmark” — the tick you put next to something that’s done. Say it HAH-kerl. The app is made in Austria, too.
Is Hakerl free?
Yes, to start with. The example lists, unlimited lists of your own and sharing are free, plus one AI checklist with two improvements to try it out. Premium (€2.99 a month or €19.99 a year) adds AI checklists and improvements, up to 30 AI actions a day.
Do the people I share with need Premium?
No. Anyone you invite joins for free with their Apple Account and can view, edit, check off and take on items.
Will “Make it better” mess up my list?
No. You see every proposed change first and choose which ones to apply. Items you’ve already checked are never removed.
Can I trust the AI’s suggestions?
They’re a great starting point, but AI can be wrong or miss things. Give your list a quick look — especially for safety, medical or baby items.
Where are my lists stored?
On your device and in your own iCloud, where we can’t see them. When you use AI, your theme, answers and (for improvements) the list are sent to create suggestions, but we don’t store them. Details are in our privacy policy.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone and iPad with iOS / iPadOS 26 or later. Sharing needs iCloud.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Your lists and check-offs work without a connection and sync when you’re back online. Only the AI features need the internet.
